Two months ago I didn’t even know what a blog was. I was bidding on freelance writing projects and one of the employers required applicants to set up a blog account. A what account? Is that like PayPal? So I went to blogger.com as the job posting directed. Although I didn’t sail across the ocean in a tall ship, or rocket into the final frontier, I knew I had a discovered a whole new world. Well, new to me at least. Since then, my life has not been the same.

I used to go to bed around 10:00 p.m. Now my husband calls from the family room as he hears me clicking on the keyboard after midnight, “Honey, do you know what time it is?”

I used to say, “I don’t know anything about computers.” Now I know how to upload photographs, create a link and edit HTML code.

I used to say, “I don’t see what the big deal is about the internet.” Now I have to endure the good-natured teasing I frequently get from my husband when I enthusiastically share something from the internet. He likes to repeat my foolish statement back to me using the same naïve tone I had used.

I used to feel a little isolated when my daughters went to school and my husband went to work. Now, a whole community is only a click away.

I’m proud to be part of the mommy blogger community. It is a community that supports one another, in good times and bad, with humor and compassion. It is a community where I feel a sense of belonging and camaraderie. It is a community of friendship and being a part of it has made A World of Difference to me.

Wow! Congrats on the two-month mark! I’m about a week behind you. Two months really can change your life, can’t they! I don’t know what I ever did without my bloggy friends. I’m so glad that I’ve “met” you. I enjoy everything I’ve read here. I can’t wait for the NEXT two months… and many many more!

I rarely ever get to bed before 1:00am. Unfortunately I work outside the home and am forced to do all my blogging after the “twinkies” are in bed…..

Good for you on your writing.
