We had quite the girlie weekend! My dear friend of 32 years came to visit with her daughter and niece. For those of you following along at home, that means we had seven girls here! To say my hubby was outnumbered, doesn’t begin to cover it.
We had makeup, glitter, dancing, an excessive amount of Love’s Baby Soft (remember?), American Girl dolls and High School Musical too! For girls between six and ten years old, it doesn’t get any better than this. Or as Sharpay Evans says, it was FABULOUS!
Of course, I have to admit, Ellyn and I seemed to enjoy the movie more than our girls did. At one point, we were the only ones watching it! The girls had moved on to playing with their dolls and choreographing their own dances. We’re definitely in the tween phase.
So we took that opportunity to reminisce about our high school experiences. The good times, the bad hair days, the ugly moments. Not only was High School Musical 2 the impetus, but Ellyn is planning our (gulp) 20 year high school reunion.

I told her I’m not into reunions and wasn’t going.
Ellyn’s smile essentially said, “Yeah, good luck with that.”
So after 32 years and one weekend, I’m not only going to my high school reunion, but staffing the registration table with her.

Your weekend sounds like a ton of fun. Yeay!
Can’t wait to hear about the reunion too.
My 20-year reunion is coming up soon too (sigh). Sounds like you had a great weekend and tons of fun!
Hi Honey
Sounds like you Girls had fun.
Give my best to Ellyn.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 32 years since she knocked on our door.
Glad your going to the reunion.
Love DAD
Loves Baby Soft?!?! WOW that brings back memories!
Great photos! Sounds like a great time
What a FANTASTIC weekend!!!!! Seven girls … how much fun is that?!? And staffing the registration table together? You are indeed very good friends!
Ah, the memories - manning the registration table is a good way to break the ice, so to speak - and Love’s Baby Soft found its way into my two oldest girls’ Christmas stockings, this year!
The whole idea of high school reunions scares me. We had a five year that I did not attend. Actually, I refused to attend.
And now, this year, we have a ten year and I want nothing to do with it. I just don’t think I’m ready to see all those people again.
Good luck to you! I’m sure you’ll have fun because your dear friend will be there. If you have any left over good-reunion-luck, send it my way!
Yea - this means you’re coming home!
Love,
Mom
I didn’t think I’d go to my 20 year reunion either. I went a few weeks ago and it was more fun than I would have ever imagined!
Sounds like a fun weekend.
Ah reunions, such angst. We are heading out to our 15th college reunion in October, crossing our fingers!
