I’m desperately trying to restore some order around my house! While I managed to get all this stuff put away, I’m still trying to find the island in our kitchen which is covered with school forms, old homework, mail, catalogs, crumbs, Christmas cards, appointment reminder cards, my old calendar, my new calendar, returned Christmas cards I have to resend, receipts and dozens of post-it notes to remind me of all the other things I have to do.

My dining room is filled with dirty laundry on the floor and clean laundry to be folded. While I know I’ll never be “caught up with the laundry” I’d be happy if my mornings didn’t start with “Mom/Honey, Do I have any clean underwear?” NO!!!!! But soon.

My desk is covered with more post-it notes and the instruction manuals and cords for all the electronic gadgets the girls got for Christmas that we’re trying to upload, download and offload so I can get my desk back!

So, I’ve been thinking of you all and look forward to resuming my online life. But for now my offline life is taking up all of my time.

Happy New Year!!!

Oh yes, I’m with you on having to deal with all of the clutter. Good luck and can’t wait to check back in with you when you’re done! :)

I think 2 of my children are somewhere underneath all of my dirty laundry….I’m guessing the third one is underneath the pile of dead pine needles that has accumulated on my living room carpet. Although I am enjoying the quiet while they’re gone, I should probably start looking for them before school starts up again.

I hear you loud and clear! My daughter came home from college just before Christmas with an overflowing hamper and an overflowing laundry basket and the comment, “Oh, yeah, I haven’t done laundry since Thanksgiving except for that one load of underwear when we (she and roommate) were desperate.”

I so relate all of mine is washed now but the stuff to be hung awaits me in the master closet.

We have one of those front loading washers - low water, lots of clothing. They work like a charm! And still we get behind!

Good luck with piles. I spent one entire day just picking up and putting away stuff in my office - wrapping paper, notes, Christmas cards, blah, blah….

It’s so nice to know we’re all going through the same thing!

My laundry quite literally exploded out of my closet door this morning. YIKES!! I guess it’s time to stop ignoring it. I too am trying in vain to get my house back in some semblance of order since the Christmas festivities! HOpe you get your stuff done!

Just think about how great it will feel to get all that stuff done. It’s overwhelming at times, but eventually it will get down to nothing. :)
