Today my hubby and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. Super Pooper was also baptized today, so June 10 is now a special date for us for two reasons. However, I want to dedicate this post to my hubby and share with you just some of the many reasons he truly is a Wonderful Husband.
• He calls me “Beautiful” as a term of endearment, even on the days I look my worst.
• He calls me from work when he has only moments between meetings just to tell me he loves me and was thinking about me.
• He meets me for lunch even on the days he’s double-booked for meetings.
• He stops watching the Yankee game, and records it to watch later, when it’s time to watch Desperate Housewives.
• He brings me a snack every night we sit down to watch T.V.
• He switches meals with me at restaurants if I don’t like what I ordered.
• He buys and inscribes cards that always bring tears to my eyes.
• He asks me to dance in the kitchen when I’m nine months pregnant while one of our many memorable songs Moonlight Kiss begins to play.
• He makes me and the girls a big breakfast on Saturdays, even if he’s already eaten.
• He sleeps on the couch when I have trouble sleeping, and with this last pregnancy, he slept on the couch every night for two months.
• He stays up late to give Super Pooper a bottle, as he did with Sweet Angel and Feisty Girl, so I can skip a feeding and get a decent block of sleep.
• He fully supported my decision to work full-time after we had Sweet Angel, to “not work” after we had Feisty Girl, and supports me now that I’m working part-time and from home with Super Pooper.
• He genuinely feels I’m working when I’m home taking care of our children.
• He listens patiently and offers guidance when I’m upset about something.
Did I know I’d met my forever man when we started dating? Let’s just say I had a hunch when he made me chicken français and pasta primavera with cut strawberry garnish, sang Elton John’s “Your Song” in a karaoke bar full of strangers the first time he met my mom, and explained that PMS is the result of changing hormonal levels and showed me a graph from his pre-med textbook to illustrate it. Now that I’ve been lucky enough to be his wife for these past twelve years, I know for sure what I suspected after dating him only a very short time . . . He is my one and only, my forever man.
