As you may have read, I’ve feeling a bit down this week because a close friend and I are growing apart. So I was particularly thrilled to get some good news today. I found out this morning that I won the Mother’s Day quote contest at Blogtations! If you’re interested in reading what quote the judges picked, here it is.
For all of you mothers out there, I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing, balanced, stress-free Mother’s Day!

Congrats on winning! Your quote reminded me of the one and only time I got on the Buccaneer with my kids - they were screaming with excitement while I was simply trying to restrain from passing out.
Have a relaxing Moms Day too,
Barbara
Congratulations! And I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Letting go of a close friend can be very painful. Sometimes it is essential for the growth of one or both of those involved. I went through this process myself recently with one of my best friends when I realized it was time for me to move forward with my life. My friend liked the rut that she has been in for the past 5 years. I had gotten tired of mine. I told her my plans and invited her along for the ride. She got angry at me and we quit talking for a few weeks. Now we are back to talking. Because I am still moving forward and she is not, we are relating on a different level than we were on before my decision to move forward. We are still friends but some of the closeness is not there. Some of the trust is not there. I know myself well enough to know that if I had not moved forward, I would have resented my friend for my choice to stay with her in the rut. It saddens me that she isn’t taking advantage of all of her knowledge to make her life better and it is her choice. Hope me sharing helps.
