We’ve all heard the dreaded question from our kids and our spouse . . .
“What’s for dinner?”
On good days, I actually have an answer. Lately though with soccer five nights a week and work being extra busy, I find myself responding . . .
“I don’t know.”
While my girls are a big help when it comes to making dinner, we can’t have macaroni and cheese every night. That’s why I decided to research meal planning resources to help busy parents like us. Since my to do list isn’t getting any shorter, I’ll take all the help I can get!
Meal Planning Resources
What I like about these meal planning resources is that they not only help answer that daily question “What’s for dinner?” they also help make the grocery list. Now if I could just find a reasonably priced resource that actually does the grocery shopping!

Maybe I’m damaging my kids’ psyches by serving leftovers so much, but at least we have home cooked meals sometimes. I usually cook two or three times what we need and freeze the rest; on really busy days I can defrost chicken, make rice or pasta, and eat with the kids using real plates and real flatware.

Actually there are services that help you shop. In some areas you can do your grocery shopping online and have it delivered to your door. My sister uses it when she has a very large order and doesn’t want to carry all those bottles and bags up three flights of stairs. She livesin Switzerland, though I’ve seen the service in big US cities, too. With the price of gasoline going up and maybe having to pay someone to watch the kids while you shop in piece, having a delivery charge it worth it.
