I was orginally planning to get all mushy and wax poetic about marking the one-year milestone for our company. Instead, I spent three days making a video about it. Why do I do these things to myself?
As far as home-based businesses go, freelance writing has been a dream come true for us. We’ve had our ups and downs, and the ups have been more than enough to keep us motivated and excited. We definitely think of you all as one of those “ups.” We want to thank you for being a part of our success. We truly believe that we’ve gotten as far as we have because of this blog…because of you!

Thanks for sharing, I cannot wait to share my story after I’ve been in business a year. It will be different (I could never spend three days doing a video, that’s dedication! Oh and my story is totally different, too.) but there is a common thread among all freelancers, I think.
It’s also good to know I’m not the only person intimidated by the Writer’s Market. That book is BIG and the sound it makes when you flip it, I thought that was in my head and part of my fear but your video proved it really is that scary sounding. LOL

@jennydecki – At first I was annoyed that the sound was there during the Writer’s Market part, but then I realized that it made it even better to actually hear how big and heavy that darned thing is.
All I could think while watching this was “Oh my god. This is incredible. It’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant…” Then I saw the Writing Forward banner and my eyes got all teary and now I feel like hugging someone. Thanks SO much for sharing this journey with us. My one year anniversary as a freelancer and blogger is less than two weeks away, so we’re like birthday sisters or something. Cool!
