Awesome list - and if I may add don't use Google as your sole research tool. A lot of people believe if it's printed it's true. So much content out there is rehashed and spun around so many times it's not funny. The library is still the best research too ever.

Great post, Tamara! I am starting a big project with a client that's going to eat up a lot of my time for the next few months. It'll be good money but I have to make sure I actually overbook myself for that time otherwise when it dries up I'll have a serious dip in income.

Amen on Wikipedia. It's tempting to use it but there are some great other sources of research that will help you impress your clients as well because anyone can go to Wikipedia. A great trick I use is to go to other Googles like Google UK or Google Australia as well as Google News for information and for ideas for research.

Cheers,
Dana

Excellent list! I especially agree with #1. I always start to feel stifled with just one major client and it`s really not worth it. I`d rather have the uncertainty and the ability to be flexible than a steady paycheck and no room to move.
