I went into freelancing with a pretty good idea of how hard and time consuming it would be, so I haven't had any big surprises, but I think a lot of people look at it like some easy ride to riches, which they soon discover -- it's not. @Tamara, That's what I didn't know -- how important it would be to build a network. It happened naturally, by way of my blog, and I am ever grateful! I feel lucky to have met and continue meeting writers and freelancers. Before all this, I only had one writing friend.
