Sometimes we get so caught up in building a successful home business that we can just plain forget why we’re doing it. When it’s all about keeping business records and worrying about your client’s reaction, some of the more important aspects of life get lost in the shuffle. Sometimes we need to take a deep breath and remember the words of “peace activist, woman’s rights reformer, temperance worker, seminary professor, child labor reformer, (and) founder of the NAACP” Anna Garlin Spencer:
No book has yet been written in praise of a woman who let her husband and children starve or suffer while she invented even the most useful things, or wrote books, or expressed herself in art, or evolved philosophic systems.
Of course we need to work hard at our businesses. We need to promote ourselves and find ways to stay motivated. But we also need to be parents and partners and people who just love our own selves.
