I'll keep everyone posted on the progress of this little plan. I have some fears, since today was supposed to be day one, and the little brat woke up one hour after I got up, not one and a half. She's on to me.

Just a note that co-sleeper families will have a really hard time with this. Children who sleep in a family bed are highly attuned to the parent(s) and can sense a lack of presence. Wakes them up every time if they're not comfortable falling back to sleep on their own.

PLEASE let me know if this works! My son is the lightest sleeper I've ever known. If I get up at 2 am, he's up right behind me. Doesn't matter what time it is, he's up. This morning he got up at 3 am (before anyone else!). It's ridiculous, I tell ya. I used to love my early morning quiet writing time, but I just don't have that anymore. Anyway, I would love to hear how this works for you. :)

I have the exact same problem with my boys, only they don´t give me an hour and a half, more like 15 minutes! Let me know if the bell works, sounds very handy. :D

LOL! Please let me know how it goes.

We're still working with trying to get our youngest to sleep in her own bed through the night. She's 2.5, and she has slept through the night ONCE (11PM-5AM). My day begins at 5:45 to get the older two ready for school, and it never fails that she is up 10 minutes after I am. Of course, she's cranky and clingy. I have absolutely NO aspirations of waking up early to work just yet!

Too funny. I'll train my toddler to wake with the bell, and then I'll go hide the bell outside somewhere. Ahhh, bliss forever!

Seriously, though - sleep/wake patterns take time to establish. Give it a month and she'll settle back into giving you more morning time.

Sneaky, but it just might work. Please let me know if it does, because I could do with getting my daughter to sleep later on weekends.
