If you can afford it, there are lots of good preschool programs available that will take kids who are as young as three. That will get them out of your hair for the mornings at least – a good time for handling tasks that require some focus time, or a professional environment.

All great tips - I use every single one of them!! For the times that the munchkin wants to snuggle and be right next to me while I'm working, I set up "base camp" on my bed. I pop in a kid-friendly movie, get some snacks and pull out a book and toy for the bed. Then I whip out the laptop and work in bed next to munchkin.
