Memorial Day is this weekend and the weather is supposed to be beautiful! So of course we’re planning on having a cookout. And while we’ll have the traditional fare of hot dogs and hamburgers, there’s another dish that’s fast becoming a family favorite . . . deviled eggs. We had them at our Easter egg hunt and even at my daughter’s First Communion. Not only do my kids love eating deviled eggs, they love making them too. So this a great Memorial Day recipe and a fun Memorial Day activity for kids!
Here’s What You Need for this Deviled Eggs Recipe:
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
Here’s How to Make this Deviled Eggs Recipe:
1. Hard boil eggs.
2. Remove the eggs from the pot and let them cool.
3. Peel the shells off the eggs.
4. Cut eggs in half lengthwise and place on a platter.
5. Remove the egg yolks, put them in a mixing bowl and mash them up with a fork. My girls especially love this part!
6. Mix the paprika, mayonnaise and mustard powder with the mashed egg yokes.
7. Spoon the yolk mixture into the egg halves.
8. Sprinkle the finished eggs with paprika for extra color (optional).
This deviled eggs recipe makes 6 servings of two deviled eggs. Since we love deviled eggs so much, we always double this recipe! Since my baby has a peanut allergy, these deviled eggs are also a great protein source.

My mom has used pretty much the same recipe since I was a kid. My own kids go crazy for these Deviled Eggs, they disappear in minutes!
