Apple season is here and for our family that means making our favorite apple crisp recipe, an easy recipe for homemade applesauce or apple cottage cheese pancakes. But we don’t just like making things with apples, we like doing things with apples too! And one of the easiest things to do with apples, besides eating them, is painting with them!

Here’s What You Need to Paint with Apples:

  • Apples
  • Knife
  • Paper plates
  • Washable paint
  • Paper

Here’s How to Paint with Apples:

1. Begin by cutting the apples in half.

2. Then pour the paint onto paper plates. I recommend using red paint with white paper and/or white paint with red paper.

3. Give your child an apple half and tell them to dip it into the paint and then press firmly onto the paper.

4. Lift the apple straight up so the paint doesn’t smear.

That’s it! I said it was simple! That’s why this would be a great classroom craft, even for preschoolers.

Printing with apples. What a great idea.

I remember when I was young using potatoes with shapes cut out of them as printing blocks but Ive never had my kids try it using apples. The only problem is, I wasn’t tempted to eat the raw potatoes but they might be tempted to eat the apples!
