Tomorrow is May Day and as Louisa May Alcott shared in her book Jack and Jill today is the day to make May Day baskets in all “shapes, sizes and colors.”
The job now in hand was May baskets, for it was the custom of the children to hang them on the doors of their friends the night before May Day; and the girls had agreed to supply baskets . . . a goodly store of pretty baskets of all shapes, sizes, and colors.
In keeping with this age old May Day tradition, here are a variety of May Day baskets you can make with your kids!

I’m sure Louisa May Alcott would be pleased to know that not only are we making May Day baskets in all “shapes, sizes, and colors,” but we’re making May Day baskets from all sorts of materials too! This is SO CUTE! My 6 year old boy (who LOVES crafts) just did the big inhale of excitement when I showed him. So, as soon as he finishes his lunch (which may be two years from now…) we are making two of the cake box baskets.
Thanks for the great project!
