Spring is here . . . finally!!! I was beginning to think that the sun was no longer hiding, but had been taken hostage by the clouds and freezing rain. Now I’m inspired to do spring crafts! So today I’m taking down this snowflake craft and this snowflake craft and putting up my first spring craft of the season . . . butterflies!

Spring Crafts

I can’t help but think of Sharpay’s song Fabulous from High School Musical Two!

Out with the old,
In with the new.
Goodbye clouds of grey.
Hello skies of blue!

Sorry, I didn’t mean to get off track and burst into song! Back to spring crafts!

Here’s What You Need to Make This Spring Craft:

  • Wooden clothes pin
  • Paper towel
  • Markers
  • Dot markers
  • Chenille Stem (Evidently “pipe cleaner” is no longer p.c.!)

Here’s How to Make This Spring Craft:

1. Color the base of the clothes pin with markers and add a butterfly face to the top of the clothes pin. Be creative! Butterflies are colorful!

2. Use regular markers or dot markers to decorate the paper towel. This becomes the butterfly’s wings, so again be creative!

3. Twist the center of the colorful paper towel and attach the clothes pin to the twisted part.

4. Spread out the edges of the colorful paper towel so it looks like butterfly wings.

5. Twist the chenille stem around the top of the clothes pin and push the ends upwards to create the butterfly’s antennae.

This spring craft is a wonderful way to welcome longer days and warmer temperatures. Finally!

I just stumbled across your blog this morning. What a great resource for parents!

I thought you might be interested in the collection of free vintage and Victorian holiday art I’m building at http://vintageholidaycrafts.com/. Sometimes I just post the art and sometimes I have associated crafts. You might find something of use; in fact, the free Valentine’s cards for kids would probably be of interest.

The collection is small now but I’m in the process of building it.

BTW, I’m not trying to spam you by leaving the URL in this comment. I’m a little sensitive to that since I just found out this morning about a whole blog network that has been scraping my content! I just genuinely thought this would be a good resource for your readers.
