Well, the Halloween decorations have been put away and it’s time to make the house look festive for Thanksgiving. Since this holiday is all about giving thanks, I decided to have my kids make a “Give Thanks” wreath. Not only is the wreath colorful and festive, it’s a great way for kids to reflect on all they have to be thankful for.
My nine-year-old daughter shared that she is thankful for her health, friends, clubhouse, trees, food, animals, herself, sisters, dad and mom. I’m so glad I made the list!
Here’s what you need to make a Give Thanks wreath:
To make the wreath, have your kids:
1. Write one thing they are thankful for on each autumn colored leaf.
2. Glue each leaf to the foam circle.
3. Glue the acorn decorations to the wreath.
4. Form a loop with the twine and glue the ends of it on the back to hang the wreath.
This decorative wreath not only emphasizes the spirit of Thanksgiving, but is a great keepsake!
