My girls love going on the computer. What I don’t love though is worrying about what websites they’re going to. That’s why I only allow them to go to websites I’ve checked out myself. If the websites are safe, educational and fun, they get my thumbs up.
Today I’m sharing a great website for kids that definitely gets my thumbs up! It’s called Woogi World. This new website encourages kids to connect with other kids and learn academics, art, values, health and how to safely use the Internet. Woogi World also encourages kids to be kind and helpful offline by awarding them Woogi money for completing tasks and doing nice things for others.
As an educator, I also really like this site because on September 1, 2008, Woogi World launched a partnership with Studies Weekly, which provides State approved curriculum for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade, and the Humane Society. Every child in a participating classroom will receive a “secret code” to Woogi World, allowing them to participate in online activities and get information relevant to what they’re learning in school. With 50,000 schools participating, Woogie World expects to reach more than 23 million kids nationwide!
Parents and teachers can also get involved through the Foundation for a Better Life home and school media program, through which they can get DVD’s and posters based on their children’s accomplishments on Woogi World.
So if your kids are looking for some online fun, I definitely recommend Woogi World. For more safe, free and educational online fun, you can also check out these websites for kids!
