Blogs rock. If you’ve been reading the Marketing Eggspert long, you know I’m a big promoter of businesses starting blogs to grow their brands:

Why Your Business Should Blog

My Blog Could Kick Your Website’s A@#

Have you converted yet? Does your business have a blog? Here are four reasons you should:

  1. Blogs expand your reach. Recently my blog posts have been mentioned on random sites, including a soapmaking website, a startup blog, and HerBigIdea.com. Just like a virus, more people can find you when others pick up your posts and link to them.
  2. Blogs make you an expert. Or in my case, an “Eggspert.” Blogs back up your knowledge, and can reinforce your abilities. This makes sales easy to close.
  3. Blogs tell customers you’re tech savvy. Or at least your assistant is. Staying on top of technology is important for any business. No one wants to spend money with a company that has a website last updated in 1996.
  4. Blogs boost your SEO. Linking to your primary website on your blog can help move you up the search engine results.

Have you heard enough? What’s keeping you from starting a blog? Talk to me about it. Leave me a comment with your best excuse for not starting a blog.

My excuse for not starting a blog: too lazy! not an excuse but a reason. I did have one running but found trying to think of new relevant content rather trying and took way more effort than the reward.

I got over my excuse for starting a blog. Now my excuses are around maintaining a blog. The ‘pressure’ to continue coming up with fresh content overwhelms me.
