As you probably know from your own blog, getting readers (fans) and search engine traffic takes quite a bit of time - it doesn't happen immediately. Both our users and search engines approach new posters with a bit of caution - they want to make sure you're not a "fly-by-night" contributor that will vanish after a post or two. Our best authors have been able to get significant search engine traffic, but in addition to publishing regularly over a longer interval, they also interact with other users on the site, leaving comments and communicating in the forums. I encourage you to not give up just yet. If you have the time to write more and interact more with other writers, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. HubPages is not a site that you will see an immediate benefit from contributing to, but a longer, more substantial investment of time will earn you traffic and fans.
