Congrats to Jon Mills, winner of Riches in Niches! This contest is now closed.
My apologies. When I wrote the book review on Riches in Niches, I totally forgot that I was supposed to do a book giveaway! So here goes.

One lucky winner will receive a copy of Susan Friedmann’s book, Riches in Niches. All you’ve got to do is give us your best niche marketing idea.
Need some help getting the creative juices flowing? Here are a few ideas I’ll throw out there.
- Dog groomers could create flyers or email campaigns directed at veterinarians.
- Children’s clothing boutiques can work with local schools on fundraising projects.
- PR Consultants can offer free press release reviews.
How do you market to your niche? Or if you’re not marketing to a niche, just throw an idea out there. Susan and I (the 2 Susans, you may call us) will choose a winner on September 18, so get your entry in by then.

I have always found beards to be really ugly, but to each their own. When I am out with the girls and see somebody with a beard I often picture little umbrellas and flags sticking out of their beards. Like toothpicks with notes on the end that could be used for marketing. They could say things like “Oops, forgot the Gillette” or “I left my dress beard in my new Prada laptop bag”. They could even advertise blogs and twitters. “See more of my beard at twitter.com/beardman”
This isn’t really marketing to a specific niche, because I think everybody will take notice of the beardvertising.
Hey Susan
Thanks for heads up on this contest.
Here’s a few of ideas for it…
1) A weight loss coach holding a free class at a gym
2) A small business lawyer giving a free consultation to help new businesses pick the legal entity they want to create (LLC, S_Corp etc)
3) Someone with a Pet Sympathy Poems journal (for when your dog or cat dies) giving a weekly bunch of flowers to a local vet for their reception area
Great i love contests
Here is one
1. Antenna Balls
Yep those balls you see on the end of car attenas. I know a guy who built a million dollar business just selling customised antenna balls
How I would go about marketing to this niche would be a combination of many things
Online and offline strategies
Obviously targetting car owners. I would probably find out the demographics too from an established company to see if there is a particular age of person who buys and from that target that market through online and offline strategies.
