Biggest obstacle to overcome in late 2008 and 2009 is the "old school heardhead" syndrome. That is... people that have done things the same way for so long simply cannot wrap their heads around a completely new and different economy ie Web 2.0.

Facebook is a fantastic networking platform; I am already getting leads after using it seriously for 3 weeks now. Twitter has become (for me anyhow) the most powerful SM platform on the web/net.

Finally, lots of companies and individuals are engaging in SM but are using it as a broadcasting and spamming platform- a real turn off. There is a lot of educating to do!
