I’m happy to announce we’ve chosen winners for the Eating Cereal with a Fork Marketing Makeover Contest! Read on to meet our 3 winners:
First Prize
Run by: Madeline Bailey
What my business does: teach accounting
Why I need help with marketing: People who actually buy my products or services are satisfied way beyond what they paid, and are willing to come back and pay a great deal more for what they received. New people are hesitant to spend the money. So there’s a huge gap between my marketing and what I’m offering.
Why I think I should win: Bring out the violins. It’s been a tough time, with terrible health that the doctors could not diagnose, losing insurance, having a special needs child, and raising him to become a human being any parent would be proud of, mostly as a single mother.
What I teach: making accounting easy to learn and how to use it to make your business more profitable..worked as well for me living on nothing, as it does for clients who are millionaires.
Not able to work, I wrote and published an excellent book, equivalent to something a top publisher would publish. I even have distribution. Luckily, I had a brilliant idea. I had discovered an easier way to teach entrepreneurial accounting. I wanted to create a system for teaching this to the non-profits who called but could not afford my rates. Also, working too hard contributed to my illness. There was more demand for my work than I could meet. I was initially focused on course work, but a book is even better.
I survived that period with enough money to get back into the game, but just barely. I’ll never give up. I’ll just limp along with bad marketing. But my business would be a a great before and after story. And many, many people could be helped financially.
Second Prize

What my business does: Exceptional Skin care
Why I need help with marketing: We are a smaller up-scale salon, which has been in business for over 10 years. We have been doing some of the same marketing strategies for the past few years and the results are getting less and less as time goes on. We are in need of an infusion of new marketing ideas that will get us results.
We are dedicated to improving our business and very eager to learn about different ways we can approach getting the word out about our fabulous spa.
Why I think I should win: We would be great students, would follow through on what we promise, be open-minded to new techniques or strategies, and would be deeply grateful for any assistance.
Third Prize
Run by: Christie McQueen
What my business does: Professional Photography Studio
Why I need help with marketing: I opened my studio because I love to take pictures and I am good at it. However, I don’t have a clue about marketing. I have been advertising in local magazines and haven’t gotten much business in return. I need help!
Why I think I should win: I have a great product, great customer service, and make clients very happy. I need help sharing this service with more people and I don’t know how.
