I’ve Seen the Future of Marketing and I Can’t Wait!

Check out this article about how Toyota in Greece used interactive internet marketing to engage their customer base. They held a contest, awarding winners with the opportunity to test drive the new Auris for a week, in return for writing a blog entry, complete with photos and videos of their experiences. Throw in a chance to stay at a fancy hotel, and you have a campaign!

Encouraging user participation is about to hit big. I’m still amazed at how many people don’t know what Marketing 2.0 is. I realize we’re actually on the cusp of a major wave of change in marketing and commerce. Imagine: corporations want to know what you really think about a product and they want you to help sell it. Phenomenal.

I foresee this change taking a while to be adopted across the board (it already is taking a while), but once businesses, large and small, see the advantage of interactive marketing, this thing is going to hit like a tsunami.

Just make sure you’re wearing a raincoat when it hits.

And what about you? Where do you fall when it comes to being ready to embrace this marketing revolution? It’s coming whether you’re ready or not. Just know that first movers ALWAYS have the advantage (see, my MBA did pay off).

If you have a question about how you can get moving with Marketing 2.0, email me today.

I keep writing “great blog” and it keeps going away. Guess I’m not a blogger yet.
