Darren Rowse took some time out to talk with me about how he gets stuff done in his home office. Not only does he run some outstanding blogs, but has some adorable young ones at home. Listen as he talks a little about how he gets over his hurdles and gets his stuff done. His secret weapon? A place you might know of with wifi and something hot to drink…
You can find Darren at one of his blogs: ProBlogger or Digital Photography School

I love the idea of “batching” time that Darren gave… especially at a Coffee House. That would mean I would have to get out of my pj’s and go out in the world. Probably a good idea for any home based internet marketer…
But I wonder when Darren “batches” time for Twitter?
Batching is a great concept. And my wireless broadband card is key for those days I want to get out and about. Time-shifting (working very early, or very late when the house is likely to be quieter) works well, too. I’m not big on scheduling, but my work day is fairly 8a-4p , so the hours help keep me grounded.
I’ve worked from home since 1989, and our youngest of three is 11. So kids opening doors has morphed into kids needing a ride to hockey or softball or dance (now, one drives so that’s freed up my afternoons in so many ways!). So staying focused is an ongoing and perpetually evolving process. Now I have to go get No. 3 up for school…
