Patrick O’Keefe put together a great panel at BlogWorld on Avoiding Disaster: How Not to Use Social Media. He was awfully kind to give some credit for the panel idea to me as he said it was inspired by my post 10 Social Media Blunders that Can Destroy Your Brand. Patrick had Jason Falls, Darren Rowse, and Lee LeFever on the panel to discuss how to ‘get’ social media and prevent being labeled as a spammer, sock puppet, troll, or just plain socially inept.
Jason kicked off the discussion asking Darren what are some of the differences between online communities, and what are the best ways to go about learning those differences and communicating with them? Here’s Darren’s answer:

Patrick
