Oh man, don’t tell my kids I’m giving this away — they LOVE The Backyardigans.

Follow loyal knights Uniqua and Tyrone as they receive their latest assignment from King Pablo; guarding his special egg. Although protecting this small item turns into a big ordeal as it spouts legs and runs away. Now Uniqua and Tyrone must pursue the egg as its makes way though the surrounding kingdom and by all of its eclectic inhabitants.

My 4-year-old and 1-year-old love the Backyardigans too! In fact the older one’s imaginative play almost exclusively revolves around her acting out each character in different episodes, making up her own words to the songs (complete with made-up words that rhyme…). It’s funny yet sad (wish she would imagine some of her own ideas instead of recycling stuff from TV). But those Backyardigans songs are so peppy and addictive, I can’t begrudge them for very long.
