I dropped by Alexa today to see if I had made an increase in my rank recently.

They are now offering up more numbers - including rank by country.
(Here’s their announcement).

For example, my current overall Alexa rank is 67,628.

But here’s how I rank in individual countries:

United States 9,436

Malaysia 25,704

Australia 45,897

Canada 48,295

United Kingdom 104,413

WOW, do I luuurrrrvvvvvvv that USA rank. ;)

Since I was on the topic of stats this week, I figured you would want to go and see how you rank up in individual countries.

It’s a great ego boost to head into the weekend!

OK, if you really want to get a big head this weekend, go check your FeedBurner subscriber count. I just jumped up 30% since yesterday. You probably did, too!

They just started tracking Google Reader subscribers, so technically, we haven’t added subscribers - they are just tracking it better now.

It looks really nice when they break it down like that. Quite the ego boost to me, too. I especially like the way they show the reach as an percentage now. It makes it a lot easier to understand.

That Alexa rank looks smashing on you, Rick!

I just do not understand Alexa at all. Am I just stupid and missing something completely obvious about it? I’ve checked it out a couple of times, and I’ve just never gotten what it was other than possibly a search engine.

lornadoone - Alexa also ranks sites in terms of traffic. Yahoo is #1, Google #2, MSN #3, etc. Your site isn’t tracking - I’ve seen that a lot, yet I don’t know why that is the case with yours.

Regardless, you can go to this page and click on ‘edit site information’ - give them whatever site info you are comfortable with providing. But at least I think it will kick-start their crawlers to start tracking your site:

Thanks for the basic info . . . I’ll have to mess around with it and see what happens.

FROM WENDY:

LOL Jennifer! At least it’s much better than your overall rank above 1MM! ;)

Great US rank Wendy! And well deserved. I’m number 18,246 in Ireland. Go figure. Thanks for the head’s up on the new Alexa stats. It does make figuring it out quite a bit easier. Never could get a handle on that whole “reach” thing of theirs.

Thanks Edward. :)

You’re not an Irish blogger, are you? That is indeed curious! (Also left a comment over on your blog just now - great mini-post!)
