Laurie Ayers is one of our awesome WAHM 2.0 Bloggers. She is a Direct Sales success story and we’re proud to have her here on Sparkplugging.
I didn’t have to think too hard to find three Sparkplugging posts that I really enjoyed. Here’s a little summary of each and why I liked them.
Show a Little Appreciation by Brandi Kajino made my short list for two reasons. Brandi authors Home Office Organizer. Admittedly I am not organized and don’t have any real desire to learn how to be organized. It would be easy for me to skip over this entire blog, dismissing it as “Oh, that doesn’t pertain to me.” Au contraire mon ami, though I will likely never be passionate about organizing, Brandi adds much value to this blog, regardless of what it is called. Secondly, this particular posts reminds us about showing customer appreciation. She suggests a quickie 60-second phone call just to let your customers know they are appreciated. What a wonderful surprise for the customer to get a phone call out of the blue just to say thank you, without any hidden agenda!
The next posting I thoroughly enjoyed is titled I am Annoyed by Lorna Doone Brewer. This one made me stand up and shout, “You Go Girl!” As a retired ghostwriter I could very much appreciate Lorna’s rant about how freelancers sometimes get a bad rap. She makes some excellent points about how not just anyone is cut out to be a freelance entrepreneur. It’s a must read!
I wrote Direct Sales Lessons from My Puppy. First of all, go look at that photo of the 7-week old basset hound. How can you resist? This post brings Direct Sales down to the most basic level. It reminds us about the excitement of a new venture, coupled with the work involved that results in a worthwhile business endeavor.
I certainly could name more than just three meaningful posts here at Sparkplugging and I’m sure you could too. The only challenge you would have in selecting your short list is narrowing it down from the pool of fabulous blog postings!

Mon Ami! Does that mean that you’re going to be making some 60 second phone calls this week?
Great picks
I really enjoying having you here at Sparkplugging!
I’m off Thursday afternoons, so I like to surf around different blogs and read posts that catch my eye. Your post really hit home for me. I was not sure how I felt about it at first but after reading your post I think I would have to agree. Just wondering though? What exactly did you mean at the end in the last paragraph?
Great choices, Laurie! I especially like the one by Lorna about new freelancers. I hadn’t seen it before, so thanks for pointing it out.
