Hi Wendy,

I was wondering what you feel about GLAM Media, in particular.

I was recently approached by GLAM and they want me to sign on. In fact, I just printed out the 24 page contract-YIKES but have not faxed it in.

However, I am wondering if they realize my blog and website are fairly NEW, (only 7 months old) and really only getting about 200 - 300 page views a day. Surely you would think they'd have already lookd at these statistic first. But maybe they just don't care??

They offered me a 2 year contract and in the contract it appears to be required that I assign my "Comscore" and 'Net Rating' stats to them.

Will this mean that on Alexa, my traffic will show even LOWER, once I do this and "instead" now, only be reflected in GLAM'S own total Comscore and Net Ratings?

Why do they even require this???

Also, will signing on with them really help to boost the traffic to my website/blog or is it really just a bunch of HYPE, given my site is not a big player in respect to page hits, at least at the moment?

ALL of this is a bit confusing to me and would appreciate someone explaining it, in more simple terms.

For those of you who are part of the GLAM Network now, perhaps you can let me know what to expect in realistic terms.

Of course I was initially thrilled to be contacted, however not sure it's worth the trouble if the payout would be non-existent due to my traffic now or if they would only cancel me soon after, if my traffic doesn't pickup to where they think it should be.

Will my current traffic also affect what advertisers will want to participate ON my site through GLAM, if my stats are low?

For obvious reasons I have not included my URL but really need some advice on this, just as soon as possible. HELP!

Question about #13: How do you know if a former network is hijacking your ComScore rating? After leaving, I certainly do not want any other network claiming my numbers anymore.

I loved this post. I agree that it is essential you know what you are going into. Know what control the network has over your content. Know the rules of being included AND kicked out. It is about so much more than money.

OK - we've joined Adroll and started a new "ad community" called "Work at Home Moms".....I invite you'all to try it out as a collective experiment, let's see how it goes....go to my blog page, and click on the Adroll advertisement box to the right ("We're Related") to sign up (and so I can track referrals).

I suspect the experiment might actually work out, with at least 6-8 sites, after 3-4 months or so.

From the moderator: This has not been verified, but please research carefully based on this info.

I want to share something. Don't use ETOLOGY ad networks. They are scams. They often deactivate site and ad space without notify the site owner. When we asked them about it, they will give us a very simple short response which we can't even understand it. I am one of the VICTIM's. My sites has generate great revenue and suddenly they deactivate it. Why did they didn't deactivate it before I inserts their ads at my site... think about it. They also very weak at CS and CC.

Hi

I'd love to know where you got the $12 -$17 CPM figure? Only a very small number of sites command high CPMs and you won't get that from any network that isn't directly selling you site (brand) with real sales people.

Most sites and networks are in the $2 and under range.

@ #11 - your writing will kill your blog, not ads

@ #7 - if you are truly getting $20 CPM per ADUNIT on Adsense then don't change a thing

We actually tried to work with Adify to build our own vertical ad network - but our "niche" (regional sites/blogs) wasn't big enough for them, in terms of CPMs...I'd appreciate suggestions regarding actually building your own ad network, from the perspective of using tools/services to help manage traffic, payouts, signups, etc.
