If you start with a free email list program - Topica, Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, etc. - it's very likely that you're going to outgrow it. And when you want to switch to Aweber or another similar service you'll discover that you can't just import your list: All your existing subscribers will have to opt in again. Which means you'll lose up to two thirds of the list you've created. So if there's any way you can swing the twenty bucks a month for Aweber, do it.
