I woke up today to an email from Elisa Camahort from BlogHer - after an incredible weekend at SOBCon, I am gushingly thrilled that I will now also be speaking at the BlogHer Conference this summer!
Details are still a little hazy - so stay tuned for more! I can tell you that I will be speaking alongside another woman blogger whom you also likely adore.
For all of you who couldn’t get to SOBCon, I’ve totally got my fingers crossed we get a chance to hug in July on Navy Pier. ![]()

Wendy, sorry I missed you at SOBCon but I am hoping BlogHer will be my first blogging conference - I had to make sure men were allowed.
Derek - we totally missed you and wished you were there. But as for BlogHer, yes, guys are welcome!
Also, I hear the Blog Business Summit (or something like that) is here in the fall.
But actually, the SOBCon event was so flipping awesome that I’m actually thinking of having a blogger barbeque at my house this summer - families will be invited, so you’ll have no excuse not to show!
I’ll be trying to convince my wife to attend BlogHer with me, but she has shown no interest in blogging even though I think she would be great at a few niche blogs.
A blogger BBQ would be pretty cool and certainly sounds like it would be a fun time.
WHOA girlfriend! This is awesome! Congratulations Wendy. You definitely deserve to get your speak on at BlogHer!
Have fun and see you soon, hopefully at the BBQ
Wendy~
hey there little huggin’ mama…
You are on a ROLL!
Congrats on landing the BlogHer speaking deal…if you’re half as inspiring as at SOB COn…you’ll nail it!
Stay passionate sweetie,
Kam:)
Alrigth congrats! Perhaps I will see you there!
wow… now I want to go to blogher!! too bad I can’t really go anywhere ’till the kids are a bit older
congrats!!
Are they going to offer podcasts of this?
Wow, Wendy, you are really moving! It’s so great to see you doing what you’re doing.
Perhaps blogher will be motivation to venture forth with the family…call me crazy but who wouldn’t want their 2 year old and 7 month old (by then) to visit Chi-town?? Shaz - be brave:) Although going alone would be bliss!!
Hi Wendy,
I keep stumbling upon your blog through other blogs and have to admit that although I’m not a mother I really enjoy your posts and the sweetness with which you write them…. so…
I just “tagged” you (hope you don’t mind):

I have a question for you. You’ve talked about Elite Retrite, SOBCon, and now the blogher conference. I think these events sound like a ton of fun, but as someone who doesn’t really earn money from her blog (I’m thinking of it as sort of a “gift” to the world), what could be the reasons I would want to attend something like that (other than to because all the “cool kids” are doing it)? Like I said, I think it sounds fun, but I don’t know if a) my husband would say “sure, you should go just because it sounds like fun,” b) I would be taken seriously or matter at an event like that, and c) I would get an education worth the price of attending.
Any thoughts? Thanks, Wendy!
I’m so happy for you Wendy, this is one of your goals to speak more…law of attraction at work!
I look forward to being at one of these events where you are featured, putting that out to the universe RIGHT NOW.
Awesome. If I had some extra green lying around I’d spring out there in no time! Congrats and knock ‘em dead Wendy!
