Can't describe how perfectly this post hits home, Wendy - pun intended!

I'd share a photo of my desk (I'm a full-time work at home blogger / blog network editor-promoter), but I don't want to scare anybody. A text description would have to include words like "piles," "crumbs" and "madness."

Your 4-year-old is both articulate and perceptive! Can't wait till our little ones are old enough to tell me what's really going on in their minds.

Wait! You mean I don't have to run a home business yet keep a perfect house and greet my husband in a negligee every evening at the door??? Man, my life just got easier!

In other words, I'm a terrible housekeeper too. Have to get it clean tomorrow, though. Sunday's my son's birthday party.

Washing up-smoshing up! The trouble with doing the dishes and housework is that they don't leave you feeling like you've really moved the world in some way!

My house is very Martha Stewart either; there was a time when it was, but then I wan't that happy at work either.

You could always turn the housework into a bit of play activity that your daughter can play with you. Just kidding :) Aw Bless her! Time for a nice weekend day out.

Pamela - it's more of a running joke in this house, whenever someone does something out of character (and good) we say, "Who are you and what have you done with..."

I was just rather surprised that my 4 year old said the joke on her own, and in perfect hysterical context. ;)

It's probably the way your daughter knows you. Time will pass when she will recognize you in everything that you do and don't do. How amazing the mind of a child is.

Ok. Now I don't feel so bad. We are having a babysitter tonight and I am irritated that I have to stop my work day to clean the house so she doesn't think aliens live here.

Thanks for making me feel more human!
