Janet Jackson: Pleasure Principle

There’s hardly a dance studio in this country that hasn’t choreographed a routine to one of her songs, such as “Control”, “Rhythm Nation”, and “Black Cat”.

Janet Jackson is a well-known actress, singer, and songwriter. Now she’s showing us her entrepreneurial chops with the launch of her new lingerie line, Pleasure Principle, which also happens to be the title of one of many of her hit singles.

Set to hit mass retailers in November, the lingerie line will be moderately priced, with pieces selling for under $40.  Janet teamed up with Bruno Schiavi to create the lingerie line.  Schiavi has also worked with Dr. Rey of Dr. 90210, on the design of  Dr. Rey Shapewear and with Priscilla Presley on the design of her lines and homeware collection.

PopCrunch’s HipHop channel quotes Jackson as saying:

“The collection has been carefully created with some of the finest laces from around the world. You will see a lot of satin and lace combined and rich colors such as burgundy and beige, silver and peach as well as your classic black and white,” Jackson said in a statement Wednesday. ”It makes you feel incredible and offers variety as diverse as the women who will wear it.”

If all goes as planned, Janet Jackson will be looking back on a great year in 2008.  Her Rock Witchu tour commenced in Vancouver, BC September 10, as well.

I’ve known of Janet Jackson for as long as I can remember, it helps that she comes from a pretty famous family.  However, she’s got a talent not just for performing but for reinventing herself as well.
