Something weird is going on, and it looks like we might be in the midst of another page rank update. All of the rest of the blogs on this domain are up from a PR of 2 to a PR of 4, except for CraftBoom, which has gotten some serious link love, but is wavering between a PR0 and a PR2.
Annoyingly, my own blog here is still at a PR of 3, despite the fact that I dropped all text link advertising, put in a reconsideration request, and the more simple and stupid fact that www.emomsathome.com/blog/ is the most linked-to page on this domain. Don’t get me started.
I think Google does this late on Fridays on purpose. Anything changing on your sites? I’m curious to hear about what’s happening with your page rank!
Find out what’s going on with your Google Page Rank with the iWebTools Page Rank Checker and the Page Rank Prediction Tool.

Hm, very coolness. We hit PR 4 today. We were PR 3 last time we checked. Thanks for the tip, because I probably wouldn’t have noticed.
You might want to consider checking your meta tags. Craftboom has both meta keywords and a description. The main blog doesn’t. And remember, all SEO techniques don’t work on all websites. Flexibility is key and then you should constantly test and measure to see what is working.
I saw people talking a bit about this last night at Digital Point, but not everyone was seeing it. Sounds like it’s rolling out everywhere now.
I’m seeing movement too. Thanks for the heads up
Kim, I doubt that it has anything to do with meta tags. Sure, implementing them won’t hurt but they are not that much of in important part of the equation in order to make a difference in this case.

eep! I have a 4 and predicted to go to 5.. what is it I am doing right?? hehe I even have text ads! hmmmmm the mystery deepens.. I think they took your complaining personal like..
Wendy this is quite stressful, I’m sure. I hope you sort it out, soon. I haven’t noticed a change for my site.
I hope you get it sorted, I know this is no consolation to you but I didn’t know about the tools and I am very excited as I have a PR of 4. Very good as I am having a bit of a downer and can’t get focussed. Des says he has had a page rank of 5 forever and can’t seem to get it to rise?
Good, it wasn’t just me then. LOL I was looking at some searches to see if my friend could get ranked for the keywords, and the pageranks were missing….
The funny thing was, the pageranks of Australian pages were fine.
Small update: I’ve read that PR may go up and down and up and down before it settles over the next few days. Spent an hour or so researching. There is a PR predictor at Dig that many people were using.
Not too sure if it’s accurate, it’s giving us a prediction of 5 once this is over.
Yes I am seeing movement the wrong direction, predictor said I would be a 5 , went form 3 to a 2 , I am disturbed,
Wendy, I noticed a big jump from PR1 to PR5. I hope it’s because I’m doing something right, but common sense tells me that this kind of leap doesn’t make much sense. My site has only been online for less than a year. Maybe Google is just testing something?
Last time I checked my blog had a PR of 5. The predictor said I had insufficient backlinks to predict future rank.
Couldn’t quite understand the PageRank checker but mostly it said 5 with a several Datacenter down notices and a couple of NaN notices. So I guess this means my blog http://www.entrepreMusings.com site is still a 5!
My corporate site http://www.babblesoft.com is a PR 4.
I wouldn’t have checked or noticed if not for your post. Good to know.
I suspect you see a flood of posts about Page Rank today and I have seen some go from 4 to 0 , so I guess I should be happy I still have page rank
Well I checked my site on the first one and it says I have a PR of 2 but with the second site it says that I don’t have enough backlinks to predict future PR.
My site is too new to get any PR yet. It’s only been up a week now, but I have been indexed by google (YAAAAA!!!) and i’m getting hits. Hopefully in the next update I’ll get some PR luv.
I’ve noticed someone mentioning PR prediction tools and would just like to add that you should take the information they offer with a grain of salt as they do have the habit of not exactly being accurate.

Alan, you are absolutely right about that. If you check http://www.emomsathome.com/blog/ in that page rank predictor tool, you’ll see that I am supposed to be going up to a six, from a supposed current PR of 5.
I was at PR5 before my page rank drop down to 3 back in October for using TLA. Somehow iWebTool still sees me at my old page rank. And seeing them predict that I should be at a 6 just rubs the loss in that much more.
On the good side, traffic from Google has more than doubled in that time frame. I guess I’d have to say that I’ll take the traffic over the rank, any day!
I completely agree Wendy: PR is definitely not nearly as important as it used to be, yet, for whatever reason, a lot of webmasters treat it as though it’s the single most important factor when it comes to determining the quality of a certain website.

My blog, The Home Business Archive, became a PR4 blog.I have concentrated on building my links with Web2.0 techniques and social bookmarking. It seems to work.
The best thing about social media is the fact that it is great for sharing quality content and yes, if you publish quality information, you will definitely get noticed and receive your share of link love.

Hey Wendy! Don’t worry! As long as your traffic doesn’t change you’ll be fine. Your blogs are awesome! My blog is a steady 4, but my website jumped fro a 2 to a 4. Maybe because I released my office organizing ebook on the 29th? (I’m still hoping you’ll get a chance to take a look at it : )
The weird thing that happened to me is my feedburner stats suddenly dropped by 500. Oh well. Traffic is fairly steady though.
Thanks for all the great email managment links! Very similar to what I do but as always, you’ve got a few clever ideas I never though of! Thanks!
This is all kind of new to me. My blog has a PR of 3 and is fairly low traffic. What is the PR based on or do we know?
Harold’s last blog post..Finally, youtube video on your ipod in one easy step!
Can anyone tell me what a page rank (NaN) means. I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Thanks
