Monday Motivation :: GTD

Monday Motivation is here… frankly, I’m not feeling very motivated.
BUT, since that’s the WHOLE POINT of this meme, I’m up for challenging myself today – how about you?
It works like this:
Post your commitments for the day – the things you MUST get done (and need a little leverage to complete!). You can post them here in a comment or on your own blog. Soon, I’ll have the Mr. Linky Widget installed. If it is, You can then throw your permalink to your Monday Motivation post with Mr. Linky below.
Then throw down your leverage – what are the consequences you are willing to hold yourself to if you don’t get your stuff done? Give away free products? Pay your blog readers $10 each? Whatever it takes – make it painful enough that you’d rather work on your tasks (but not so painful that you won’t do it even if you don’t get your stuff done!)
Here’s what I am committing to get done by the time I go to bed tonight:
A Target run (I know, not so tough to commit to this!)Install Mr. Linky on this siteClear out my inbox of 307 emails – yikes.Send out finalization emails to interviewees for my information productWatch Ian Lurie’s Google Videos, #3 and #4
If I don’t get my stuff done, I will take a picture of myself sans makeup and sans a shower and post it to the blog. Yeugh – I may lose a lot of readers if THAT happens!
GAWD – 1:19am and I’m done. It wasn’t the threat of scaring you away with no makeup – it was the thought of showing up tomorrow and letting you down that kept me going! But I should have tackled a little less today – I sent out 55 emails, scratched 5+ lingering things off of my to do lists, and now I’m happy to just go to sleep!

Nothing like a little public self-humiliation to liven one’s goal-achieving spirits! Nice post, Wendy.
Wowser! That’s a courageous thing for ANY lady to threaten to do to herself.
Wendy,
Ditch the witchcraft.
Love,
Karen
One of the few things I remember from my experience at USAFA over 20 years ago was to set high but ACHIEVABLE goals.
I’ve always stressed the achievable part.
Nice. I’ve been thinking of getting into GTD. Here’s a little more motivation. Thanks Wendy.
I wish I’d gotten to this on Monday! Today I’m too worn out to set goals. I love GTD, though. It’s a great system.
