eMoms at Home Last Day as a Technorati Hottie

I’m supposed to be well rested and revived on Mondays. But in preparation of launching with a new name *tomorrow* (we hope!), I worked over 25 hours this last weekend. My kids are so getting tons of mommy time when this is over!

And in honor of our last day as eMoms at Home, I thought it only fitting that I wear my Technorati Hottie shirt, because it’s going to be a while before I can put this thing on again. ;)
Am looking just a little bit tired in that there photo…

So needless to say, with all the work that still needs to be done, I’m not in need of motivation as I am in need of, well, sleep. But Monday Motivation MUST GO ON, so let’s get this over with so I can get back to work and give you anxious readers your brand new site!

So, what is the Monday Motivation drill?

Step 1 - let us know what you are going to get done today (your to-do list, so to speak).

Step 2 - put it in a comment below or a post on your own site.

Step 3 - let us know what will motivate you to get it done - a reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do. I’ve found that the public announcement and accountability is a particularly great motivator, but throw down consequences if you really need a kick in the pants to get stuff done! Unless, of course, you are working towards a new laptop too, in which case I think the reward is particularly motivating.

We don’t care how you get it done, we just want to support you in reaching your goals.

Today I have so much to do that I don’t want to make my usual promise of getting through my inbox - and I apologize profusely to any of you who are waiting for a response from me. But there are a couple of things that I HAVE to get done today:

  1. Finalize new author contracts and send them to at least 6 of our 13 new writers
  2. Respond to any outstanding advertising inquiries
  3. Send out 5 emails to contest sponsors

Leverage :: If I don’t have all of this done by the time I go to sleep tonight, we won’t launch tomorrow and you will KILL me! But I’ll also give one of you $100 cash, just to keep in tradition with my usual tradition of building accountability into my day.

So what are you going to get done today?

I’ve had weeks like that. And I’m going to have a week like that right now!!! Yay, it’s almost here!

This week, Mon. to Fri. write my how to write book.

Motivation: I have other deadlines, so if I miss this one, everything gets behind. Staying on track will help me get everything else done on time too.

I love the monday motivation. So much, that I have started a daily to-do list on my own blog. It helps me keep track of what I want/need to do each day. My motivation is that if I don’t do it, no one else will and it will be there tomorrow. Along with that day’s work.

I just found emomsathome a couple weeks ago….right when you were discussing the name change etc. I’m excited to see everything you have come up with. Way to go! Anyway, here’s my list…

I am so excited to learn the new name! It’s fascinating, as an outsider, to watch you go through this re-branding process. I am looking forward to seeing how big you can grow what started as eMoms.

In the meantime, I need a LOT of motivation today since I am still suffering from The Worst Sore Throat of My Entire Life. Here’s my list:

1. Go to the doctor. Unfortunately, this appointment was made months ago and he is not my primary physician, who is the doctor I would rather be seeing in my current condition.

2. Draft the second argument in the brief I am currently working on.

3. Test a product that I’m reviewing for my blog.

4. Take time to thank my husband for taking such good care of the kids by himself so that I could take it easy while I was really feeling sick last week.

If I get all of these things done, I will allow myself to finish off that lovely wedge of brie in the fridge. Otherwise, it ends up in the trash.

Well, lets see. I’ve got tons to do but whether or not I get them done is a different story.

Today, I plan to…

Send out letters to find sponsors for my food blog contest for May & June.

Reply to several emails from last week.

Go get my driver’s license renewed.

Go get groceries for a month.

And, go over stats and keywords to better optimize my food blog!

Good luck on your to-do’s and the new launch..**fingers crossed***

Mine are on my blog, but it turns out it’s really hard to do much of anything with my development machine down. I’ve ordered some recovery software (overnighting it!) but in the meantime, I think I’ll need to try a Plan B…

more power to you wendy and all that you are up to, sure am looking forward to seeing yoru newest adventure !! I appreciate the kindred monday spirit, coming here knowing that it’s a place that others rely on too

I confirmed, secured and made all my appts for this week - whew. Left to do is 3 posts to finish ( in draft ) so that I am ahead of my game this week - rather than behind - I can’t seem to write enough on the topic of green so it’s been quite fun. Also some really great things are going in the arena of local “green” that I am happy to partake in - gotta walk the dog!!

Wow Wendy! The new site is looking fabulous!! For the second week in a row, I was too busy being motivated to even get my goals online. Maybe I should just scan my to-do list instead.

Great work and hope you take a nice long deep breath today!

Well I think you made a good move. That’s been my struggle as well - since there are many men who relate to the new urbanism issues I raise on the New Urban Mom site. Congratulations! I’ll be here regularly.
