I’ve been surprisingly productive today despite the fact that all of my kids are home sick today. Well, let’s say that ’surprisingly productive’ is a relative term if you take into consideration that my furnace gave out this morning, I spilled coffee all over my bedroom floor, and I’m checking my daughter’s forehead for a return of her fever every 15 minutes. :/
I’d so like to NOT do Monday Motivation today based on how my day is going so far, but I have an unruly inbox that I must. get. through. today. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to set aside a Monday to clean it out, and I’m now up to a frightening 537 emails that are looming over my head. ICK.
So, what is Monday Motivation anyway?
Step 1 - let us know what you are going to get done today (your to-do list, so to speak).
Step 2 - put it in a comment below or a post on your own site.
Step 3 - let us know what will motivate you to get it done - a reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do. I’ve found that the public announcement and accountability is a particularly great motivator, but throw down consequences if you really need a kick in the pants to get stuff done! Unless, of course, you are working towards a new laptop too, in which case I think the reward is particularly motivating.
We don’t care how you get it done, we just want to support you in reaching your goals.
With all that’s going on today, I’m only going to commit to one thing before I go to bed tonight:
- Clean out my inbox of 537 emails
But by the end of the week, I’ll also commit to:
- Setting up Webmaster Tools for all new blogs
- Create three badges for our authors to use on their blogs
- Clean up the rest of my house by Wednesday
- Send out 5 guest blogging inquiries
- Finish my SOBCon presentation
Leverage :: If I don’t have all of this done by the end of the day Thursday, I will go without coffee for a week (I hate it when I throw that down, because I HATE going without my coffee!!).
PS : thanks so much Brandie for holding down the fort last week while I was in Houston!

As motivating as you are Wendy, I’m just in no mood to do anything today. I did help a stranded traveller get his tires fixed:) That’s a lot when you live 30 miles from the nearest store with air;) I figure that balances my don’ts!
GET WELL KIDDOS! And good luck with your emails Wendy and the rest of your day.

Hi Wendy,
Amazing how the inbox keeps growing! I have just deleted about 500 that were hiding in some in folders- Maybe if I got rid of folders I would have less backup:)
Today I wiLL:
1. Finish my Niche or not Niche update post I have decided on the direction of The abundance highway.
2.Write 2 posts for my new blog on Zen LOA
3.Clean up my work room- art so I can see the table
For the week?
1.Start to get the accounts up to date
2. Launch new blog and enlist my blogging friends help
3.Clean out my wardrobe- allow the new to come in
When I have done all of this I will treat myself to a reading session.of a new book Bridie
Have a delicious week everyone and celbrate what you do get done
I meant to post this early this morning but I have too busy getting stuff done. My list for today:
1. Get client financial plan completed.
2. Attend teleconference for one of my vendors on new product training.
3. Write a new blog post.
4. Research new “tip of the day” and post to Utterz.
5. Leave early enough for my out-of-town appointment to do some networking while in Baton Rouge.
If I don’t complete all of this I need to make 30 minutes of cold calls tomorrow (which I hate but unfortunately does generate some business)

I always forget to come here first thing on Monday, but I mean too.
Today I need to write a post to be published on my blog tomorrow. I need to start having my writing done at least one day ahead. I have no idea what my motivation for it is, except I will be mad at myself if I don’t do it
Also, I have some general catching up to do and to follow up with some email and commenters.

No, Wendy, nooo - don’t put the coffee on the chopping block! Ack! That is just downright scary!
I’m just gonna try to survive this horrible shoulder/neck pain and migraine - I’m almost there, actually. It’s already 7:30pm. I came by earlier, but, your post wasn’t up yet.

Monday is almost over and it’s all I can do to drag myself up to bed. I need sleep! I hope your kiddos get well soon and you have a better day tomorrow.
Well Monday has ended but I just stumbled upon this blog. My Monday list was to work on some sewing projects, promote, promote, promote my Etsy shop (http://fraybabybibsandmore.etsy.com), write a new post for my blog, AND make sure I make plenty of time for my 2 year old son. Life is quite the juggling act isn’t it?
And for the results - I promoted (not as much as I wanted to), I posted (yup, a fresh new post), I finished a couple new items AND my son and I enjoyed the beautiful 65 degree day outdoors not once, but twice today! That was a great Monday. Let’s hope today can be as good.

Hi Wendy, this is my first time: commenting and making this kind of planning!!
Let´s see,
1) Call my provider to check out how my order is going on.
2) Visit my provider.
3) Prepare my first kit for this seasson.
4) Join with my partner and do numbers.
By Friday:
1) Have all my loundry and ironing done.
2) Finish the kindergarden-toy-proyect for my son.
If I don´t… (wow! this is SO hard) I´ll leave my husband the car for one day. Ouch!
Let´s see what happends!!
Hi all,
Oh gosh… it’s Tuesday, but I’m throwing down some motivation anyhow.
- Call my local bookstores to do a “Coffee Talk” for the local home office professionals
- I WILL get my Quicken updated by Friday
- I will test out my new NeatReceipts (that’s me purring…) and post about it
- work on my new media venture and get a date on the calendar
If I don’t get this stuff done by the end of the week, there will be no new wafflemaker for me and my 6 year old. Gotta go… crispy waffles are calling…
(Wendy - You are most welcome for posting last week. Thanks for asking

So, Wendy, did you get through your horde of e-mails? Should I be selling coffee futures?

@ Brent2:
Ummm… actually no. And it SUX. I had SO many huge issues come up on Monday plus a gazillion emails came in on that day that I only got it down to 480.
The tea ain’t cutting it, either.
