Monday Motivation :: Summer Kickoff!

Monday MotivationToday is the last day of school for my kids. I”m armed with my 94 activities for kids list as well as Char’s and Randa’s new Kid’s Printables books (which my kids literally fought over), I think I just might survive.

Today I also get to go to my 12 year old’s graduation from grade school IF I can get out of traffic court in time (how’s that for the ultimate in crappy timing?!).

So today’s Monday Motivation is done on the run (and I don’t miss this ‘on the run’ stuff at all).

How to Get Motivated on Mondays

It’s a simple plan – tell us what you are going to do: Today, this week, whatever. Then tell us what will motivate you to get it done – a reward or consequences.

Today I will:

  1. Go to traffic court :P
  2. Read one chapter in Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Writing
  3. Read some more of Susan Payton’s 101 Entrepreneur Tips
  4. Write 4 posts for Shoestring Smarts
  5. Clean out inbox (I’m extremely proud to say there are only 54 emails sitting in there right now!)

For the rest of the week I will

  1. Meditate 3X
  2. Scratch 10 things off of my ongoing To Do lists

If I don’t get this stuff done I will send $400 to a Kiva entrepreneur!

So what are you going to get done? :D

I’ve got a confession to make. I didn’t fulfill last weeks motivation, so Denmark lost the soccer match to Sweden, BUT fate sure has a VERY special way of showing me. Since I can’t show a YouTube video here you can see it on my page and trust me. It is fate. What caused all the commotion? I forgot to do my exercises.

Monday:
Is over
Tuesday: (Danish Constitution day)
Write a blog post
Referee two soccer matches
Wednesday:
Write a blog post
Research for guest post
(Work duh, client meetings)
Thursday:
Prepare for next week’s client seminar
Update blog
Friday:
Get spanked by physical therapist for not doing my exercises (shin splints)
Enjoy my new driveway
Saturday:
Blog updates
Enjoy an evening with my wife (her work is paying)
Attend a birthday (No motivation needed for Saturday)
Sunday:
Yet another birthday
Garden stuff

Sorry for mentioning my blog again Wendy, but you really have to see it to believe it.

My to do’s got fried by a “Monday after 4 days at a conference, didn’t get back til midnight” kind of day.

So instead, I got to work on a bunch of other things, funny how these come out of the woodwork when you least need or expect them.

What I did do today:

Upgraded a client’s hosting due to a higher than expected seasonal traffic spike. (good problem to have, really)
Made updates to several client’s sites.
Returned a bunch of calls.
and discovered I have more business than before I left. (guess that’s a good problem too) :)

Wendy, I’m starting to read Hypnotic Marketing (also by Joe Vitale) have you read it?

Monday motivation for me this week is getting caught up. So, I need to set my sights low. If I accomplish these 4 things I will be happy: First, get to the bottom of the paperwork mountain. Second, manage to feed the family every night (weekend meal planning didn’t happen). Third, tackle the laundry mountain. And fourth, write at least two substantial posts. The only reward is the feeling of accomplishment that, hopefully will result.

My kids are out of school this Thursday & instead of taking it easy & breezy,
I want to:
1) start another blog
2) Market my web development business more
3) finish the book I am writing (and self publish it)
4) build up my inventory on eBay to 1000 books

Aughh! It can be done, it can be done, it can be done!!!
