Last Monday, I was up until 2:30 am cleaning out my inbox of nearly 700 emails. I also more than doubled the number of email filters set up in my email client.
Today, at the end of the week, I have less than 40 emails sitting in my inbox. This is a HUGE improvement over usually 250 emails by Friday. I hope those of you who participated in Monday Motivation last week found similar improvements to your productivity.
The greatest part about it is that I am able to free up a ton more time for writing and running my business. I still need a ton of help, but until I hire (or win!) that VA, email filters will be saving my a$$.
This also means I have more time to spread yummy link love.
**My new addiction (thanks to Linksational) is reading I am Bossy. This woman is seriously freaking hilarious. She can even make slippers funny, I kid you not.
**Arianne Benefit of Neat and Simple has released a new eBook “Neat & Simple Guide to Organizing Your Office!” at an extremely affordable $12.95. Arianne is amazing and has been a bloggy friend for a very long time - I think she totally under-priced herself, but hey, I can be a capitalist pig.
**And lastly, over the holidays I did a Blog Talk Radio interview with Antonio Crawford on his show, “Let’s Talk Blogging“. We talked about a whole bunch of stuff, mostly about blogging, how eMoms at Home has grown, and making money from blogging/working from home.

I didn’t complete the challenge the day you issued it, but I did get my inbox to zero by the next day. Even as of right now, my inbox sits at 11 and Google Reader sits at 28 - PROGRESS!
I know exactly how you feel about all those emails. I no sooner get it down to a manageable size & I’m avalanched again. That delete button looks mighty good on a lot of days… only thing is I might miss something important.
Email can take up a lot of time. I turn off my sound when working so I’m not tempted to keep reading them as they come in.
What email client are you using? I´m using a Yahoo free account at the moment as a primary email account to run my business. It is free, but extremely good in preventing spam from coming to my inbox. With the unlimited space I think it is a pretty good deal.
Even if the “delete” button does seem tempting under such circumstances, leaving emails unanswered is simply not an option as you would have a lot to lose as a result of such an approach in the long run. Hiring a person to take care of support issues is, in some cases, a must.

Thanks for Arianne’s Neat & Simple link. Her eBook looks great and will help me get my office in better shape! $12 for a 130 page document, definitely a deal!
Ooohhh - I am jealous. I have thousands in my inbox - and a couple thousand of those are flagged!!! ohhh - it is not good. But with a four month old, a kindergartener, two stores and a blog, things are a tad busy and I am so behind since the baby was born. I NEED a VA too!
Personally, I’ve hired another person over at my brick&mortar business who is also more than accustomed to the Web so that I’ll be able to finally delegate a few other online activities as well

Hey lady, here I am up all nite (it’s now almost 4:00 AM!!) fixing a web emergency…and look what a nice suprise I found. Thanks so much for linking to my book! I know it’s cheap…this is an intro price and the price will go up on Feb 1. p.s. I have a VA now - finally. it’s working out great…but she doesn’t fix websites at 2 in the morning. Darn!
Love you! I’m so impressed with the empire you’ve built e-moms into. You Rock!!!
