Happy Monday everyone! I’m filling in for Wendy today on Monday Motivation. Have we met yet? I’m Brandie Kajino, The Home Office Organizer (in case you’re curious, I’m usually in this corner of Sparkplugging). Glad to meet ya!
Ready? Grab your cuppa whatevah and let’s get going, because it’s Monday Motivation time!
This weekend was a little crazy here in the northwestern USA. I am located near the Portland, Oregon metro area, and let’s just say our spring weather around here has been a little, uh, unpredictable?.Here’s how a typical 30 minute stretch went over the weekend: snow, sun, hail, rain, sun, hail, rain, snow, cloudy, hail. How the heck do you dress for something like that? Layers.
This week was also a little crazy, since last week I was at a conference for professional organizers (Peter Walsh of Clean Sweep and Oprah was even there). It was all so much to take in that I had to put it all aside for a week and just let it all sink in. Last night I finally sat down and wrote up a list of things I want to implement over the coming year (it’s three pages long!). So, here’s my Monday Motivation list to turn those good intentions into action items. But first…
What is the Monday Motivation drill?
Step 1 - let us know what you are going to get done today (your to-do list, so to speak).
Step 2 - put it in a comment below or a post on your own site.
Step 3 - let us know what will motivate you to get it done - a reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do. I’ve found that the public announcement and accountability is a particularly great motivator, but throw down consequences if you really need a kick in the pants to get stuff done! Unless, of course, you are working towards a new laptop too, in which case I think the reward is particularly motivating.
We don’t care how you get it done, we just want to support you in reaching your goals.
Today before I go to sleep I will:
- Clean out my Google Reader
- Prepare my handout for my presentation this weekend
- Email local list of people about my presentation
- Draft my update to my 30 Minute Consultation form
- Write my Earth Day post for my website/blog
If I get all of this done by the time I said I would, I will treat myself to a luxurious cup of hot chocolate and handmade marshmallows. Yum!

Well, it’s already 4 p.m. on Monday in this corner of the world. So I’ve already:
• cleaned out my Gmail inbox
• organized the craft supply cabinet
• started a load of laundry
• written a new blog post
The rest of this week, I need to:
• work on my e-book
• finish laundry
• spend time with the kiddos
• menu plan for May
• budget for May
• write two posts a day - I want/need to start a post stockpile
If I don’t get these things done this week, then I’ll have to do them on the weekend, and I really don’t want to! The weather’s beautiful right now, and we want to spend good family time this weekend. So I fear the wrath of my husband and kiddos if I’m not productive this week.

I love Mondays. I haven’t made any mistakes yet and that’s a great way to start any week.
I just bought a new Video camera this weekend and my task for today is to get more pictures for my backyard garden site and also for my fly fishing site which will also supply a few photos for my travel site.
I get up at 5am and it’s already 11am so my online work day is done.
If I get my video and picture taking done early enough I think will clean up a few add-ons I don’t use in FireFox and also get rid of a few Wordpress plugins I stopped using but never deleted. It’s getting a bit cluttered in there.

This is my first time to participate in this! I’ve been meaning to, but kept forgetting.
1)I’m going to start reading and writing for the series of 4 Earthday posts I’m going to do this week.
2)Contact people I know to see if they are doing an Earthday post - I plan to do a link out to Earthday posts later in the week.
3) Add some plugins to my Butterfly Gardening blog.
What’s motivating me? Posting it here!

Last week was a hideous week, but I’m feeling like I’m getting back on track now. Or at least like I can see the track. My M.M. is on my blog.
I’m in Boise, Idaho, and sympathetic about the weather. We’ve been alternating between sunny, cloudy, and snowy today.
Hey, your list looks strangely a lot like mine. Go Earth Day!
Thanks for the “kick in the pants” to get my list going!

Nice to meet you Brandie, a fellow member of one of my networking groups was at that organizing conference and loved it too!! Today is usually an in home office day, but I had to spend the day at the hospital instead. (I’m OK - just had to get some diagnostics)
I am very off task. My only goal was to write my earth day post, and I just finished it - I have actually had more ideas to write than time on this topic of green, and plan to do more through out april.

Mondays are always busy and chaotic, so my plan for the day is:
1) Check and sort out email
2) Find a decent solution for current my spam problem
2) Plan my week ahead (realistically)
3) Get cracking on my assignments for the day.
Thanks
This will definitely help me organize all my future Mad Mondays!
Thanks all for your comments. I thought I would come clean and say that I did all but one of my items on my list. So, no hot chocolate for me.

But, I did get that last one going today!
Hope your Mondays were productive!
