MyBlogLog Gets Proactive with New Yahoo Suggestions Board

Got a suggestion for the MyBlogLog team? I keep sending mine to Robyn Tippins, only because she and I are good buddies.

But one-off suggestions won’t be heard as much as a consensus of voices on new feature and functionality requests – and MBL just launched a new section of the Yahoo Suggestion Board dedicated specifically to user requests for improvement.

My number one request is an easy way to add contacts who have added me as a friend – currently it takes 4 clicks to add one friend – with more than 100 people waiting on me to return the friend favor, that’s 400+ clicks. I love you guys and all, but I have to admit I’m waiting for the MBL team to simply add an “Add All As Friends” button.

I would love to see a few more things added – like having a little border or some kind of indication on each avatar to let me know if I have already added a person as a friend – that way if I see a friend I haven’t added, I can do so fast before I get caught. ;)

What would you like to see added or changed over at MyBlogLog?

Right on the money. With all the time investing in getting our systems going online finding ways to leverage our time with features and tools such as an add all button would certainly help.

This is a grat idea. I know the BlogCatalog folks “listen” to their users’ requests all the time. I think BlagCatalog’s current “one-up” on MBL is the Discussion forum. MBL has stats, which I use frequently. Both bring me back daily.

I would like the profile info up closer to the avatar image so I don’t have to scroll down to find out what I want to know about the person. It should tie into the sites and blogs I author module better. As it stands I go straight to their sites to check them out that way. Maybe that is how it is intended to work that subliminal thing.

Personally I wish they would do ratings on the avatar images…I don’t like what I see on some of them!! I wish there was some way to edit which ones stay on a site…if there was some way to block inapropriate images, I would maybe put it on my site.

Kelly – you can block them – when you mouse over the avatars on your site, a little red box appears (it also appears when you mouse over your own avatar on other’s sites). Just click the x in the red box and you can ‘ban’ anyone from your site, or alternatively, hide yourself from showing up on any other certain sites. :)

@ Kelly: would that by any chance include a cute little toddler extending his middle finger? :P

Keep those suggestions coming and if you see an idea you like, be sure to vote on it so it moves up in the ranking.

I like MyBlogLog’s stats they keep and have registered for the pay service. That front screen could be easily improved.

One thing I’d like is to be able to organize it, see Facebook for a good example. Another is that I’d like to be able to turn off notification when folks join communities that I’m in.

@Derrich: ROFL. I think the kid is Dutch and a Feyenoord fan (Soccer team). Not sure I would be happy to see my soon kid doing that on the web ;)

It would be great with if you could pick one of you blogs as the primary one, so that it gets the most attention, maybe a bigger screenshot, a frame or something similar.

That’s awesome. Finally they can make the site better. I think I would suggest a better design though.
