Like this theme, too. (My WP site is integrated with a Vanilla message board. One database and one comment area.) There’s so much custom code to pull that off that changing themes is not easy. But I do like the bright feel of this theme.

I love free themes and I love them when they are really optimized for maximum ad exposure, the new one on TBW is an isn’t but it gives me opportunities to put ads in spots I didn’t think of before. So its fun.

Derek – funny, I was thinking the exact same thing! I kept forgetting little things like changing the permalink structure, creating a favicon, and inserting the right code into the templates to make sure the plugins worked correctly.

If you make a checklist like that – POST IT! Or if you want to submit it as a guest post, I’d Luuuuurrrrrvvv you forever!

Hmm, sounds like that could be an opportunity for a much needed plugin. Maybe there is some way to manage all of that a little easier.

It almost makes it easier to try and modify the theme in place gradually rather than chop it out for a new theme completely.

What I really need to do is spend the time to document everything very closely to make the process easier and avoid forgetting something, which I usually do.

OMG, Derek – I’m totally with you on that one!! Very soon I’ll be launching a third blog – and have had to rebuild it THREE times, which has been driving me absolutely bonkers. It’s because I’ve been getting some great input from the Elite Retreat presenters, who have been helping me to set up the blog right the first time around (and so that I don’t have to make big changes later!!).

But having to go through THREE full WordPress setups has been MORE than a drag!!

I like the Citrus Scraps theme, very clean and organized.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of a new theme myself but just wish it were easier to do. So many of the plugins require little additions to certain files that all need to be added back to a new theme.

OK – so Citrus Scraps is loaded. I LOVE that I can add my little logo that I created (we all have to start somewhere).
What I am wondering based on other things I learned today is do I have to edit the code to make sure my titles are tagged and my key words/phrases are optimized?

I wonder what she does differently to make them more SEO friendly. Maybe she uses a different H tag configuration and makes the content appear before the sidebar?
