I used to be a Nextel dealer. I like counselor selling, even though I made most of my money selling international "call back" telecom down to Australia. It was a blast, I made enough residual income to "retire" for two years. It is great fun meeting new people, helping them out, and making money in the process!

Having to hire telemarketers, I found a way to screen the candidates. I made them watch: www.sandman.com/taliban.html I then asked each candidate: "What three mistakes are the telemarketers making?"

Yup, it was a good test-I got the right people...

Thanks for your article!

Thanks Kevin. It's crazy isn't it? The things that are right under our nose are the things we don't see in ourselves. We're always looking outside of ourselves for the answer!

Wow, that was a really good article. Some of these pitfalls are so common, and yet hard to notice if they haven't been pointed out before.

Kelvin Kaos last blog post..<a href="http://www.puppetkaos.com/2008/07/feist-on-saseme-street/" rel="nofollow">Feist on Saseme Street</a>

I really resonated with particular article, especially:

>> Who has the time to take a walk in the woods or have a quiet dinner with their spouse? If you’re running your own business, you probably put off these luxuries believing that you’ll enjoy them again “someday.” Next thing you know, you are fast approaching burn out and your spouse has forgotten who you are (or who you used to be.) <<

Truer words were never spoken.

Enjoy, Barbara
