VA’s: Your Website and Newsletter: Elements to Help Reach Your Ideal Clients

With the financial crunch the world is currently in, it is now time to identify what is working and what isn’t working in your business. A great place to start in this process is your website and newsletter. These elements will help you reach your ideal clients, which in turn will allow you to grow your business.

Your website – If you have an online business, your website is probably the predominant space for you to showcase to your potential clients your services and/or products. However, many people tackle this with the mindset of “let me show them how much I know and how smart I am and they will just buy from me.” Or sometimes, the mindset is “I just need to have anything up there and as long as it has the basics of what I do, that is fine”.

Well, I disagree. If your website is the main visual and the “first impression”, this requires quite a bit of more thought.

Go to your website and ask yourself these questions:

  • How do I wish for people to feel when they come to my site?
  • Do the colors resonate with me?
  • Does my site quickly tell people what I am offering?
  • Is it easy to navigate and user friendly?
  • Is the message of how I can help them easy to understand?
  • Is the site filled with information on how I can help my client ease their problems?

And if you notice the questions are matching with the correct answers…make the necessary changes.

Then, ask others to give you honest feedback about your site. Reiterate to them it will help you to receive honest feedback regarding the answers to your questions. Sometimes we aren’t always the best objective participant (you are talking about your website).

Your newsletter

A newsletter is one of the most reliable way to build your relationship with potential clients however it one of those business tools underestimated. Remember in this our busy lifestyle if you have someone subscribe to your newsletter, they are asking for more information and giving your permission for that information.

Go to your newsletter and ask yourself these questions:

  • How do I wish for people to feel when they receive my newsletter?
  • Do I like the template and colors? Teresa’s Tip: If you have colors associated with your newsletter, it is better for branding purposes to have them similar to your website.
  • Does my newsletter offer valuable information to my subscribers?
  • Is it easy to navigate and user friendly?

Then, ask your subscribers these questions, request their feedback and take action on the feedback.

Sometimes it is about changing our perception with our eye and ears….step back and look at where you are what you are doing and become more streamlined in your efforts. By taking a look at your website and newsletter, you can take the time and see if you are accomplishing goals to help reach your ideal clients.
