Hi Wendy,

Thanks so much for including me in your articles. I really appreciate the opportunity to speak on the the small business impact of this legislation -- the little guys often get overlooked in this discussion.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the real world of entrepreneurship.

Since the requirement for the bailout bill hit the news, our business has been off by about 25%. We don't use a line of credit to run our business, so we haven't been directly impacted by the credit crunch, but we have certainly been impacted by the concern in the general public, resulting in people shopping less.

Good points.Hopefully this huge bail-out package will solve most of the financial problems. This is a good time for normal people to start thinking about what to do if they lose their day job.

Well, the most instant result of all this crisis was the huge decrease on sales - people started thinking more carefully, what to buy and for how much.
I am still waiting, what impact will there be on advertising market - will companies start to advertise less, as nobody is buying anything, or, vice versa, they will advertise more harshly, as they want to keep up with sales plans?

Wendy, thank you for including my thoughts in this great article. I'm honored. Now that the Act has passed, the real work begins of sorting through how it will be implemented, and whether the voice of Indie business nationwide will be included. I am hopeful, and also thankful that people like you are building communities that help spread the word and foster empowerment in our ranks.

Great article with lots of good points. I was against the bailout...but yesterday I started rethinking that position, and this morning when I found out the State of California couldn't get access to cash anymore to pay many teachers, nurses and other state-paid employees, I realized this Bill was important.

How has it affected me personally?

We are in escrow for a house, and the State of Nevada has a grant program that helps people with their closing costs. They were expecting funds to begin flowing this month, as the first month of their fiscal year, but because of the volatile market - they've decided to postpone the program until next year.

So yes, it has affected main street, and I'm hoping the passing of the bailout really helps everyone as much as it can.
