When I was a kid, I used to love to go to MLB games. Mostly because I wanted to pig out on hot dogs and cotton candy. Now I would take my boys games over any major or minor league games. High school baseball is so much fun because you know the kids playing and the talent is awesome. Just thinking about who might make it to the majors is a thrill in itself. We are about 2 1/2 hours from Safeco Field (Seattle Mariners) so the first game I went to was a local minor league game. It’s a lot of fun, my 6 year old just eats it up. Very casual and the stadium was renovated a few years ago so it’s really quite nice!
[I've also sung the national anthem there for three years, and ya can't beat free for tickets for the family at the ol' ball game. ]

Minor league games are fun – we’ve got 2 teams in our area. The good thing about living in a city that has a sucky major league team (sorry O’s) is that you can go to their games for just as cheap. Different experience though, and I like them both!

If you are smart about it, MLB games can be very cheap as well.

At Citizen’s Bank Ballpark, you can get in for 14 bucks, and they have dollar dog nights quite often so even the food can be cheap.

And I think major league players share just as much passion for the game as guys in the minors. Don’t let the Barry Bonds’ of the world taint your view.

I’ve always wanted to attend a minor league game one of these days. I think one good thing about minor leagues is that the players have a clearly defined goal (MLB) so they put in extra effort. And that’s always enjoyable to see.

I think little league games are pretty fun to watch too.

Other than the cost, the whole experience is better at a Major League park. Getting autographs from minor league players is akin to getting an autograph from someone who got cut in the first round from American Idol three years ago. I recommend you spend some time at US Cellular. It's the best park in Chicago. Great food. Fun things for the kids to do. Easy parking. Fireworks. Khyles last blog post..A funny thing happened
