Where is the off switch for the Interweb?
I’ve looked high and low for the power switch today as just about every blog and website was running some sort of April Fool’s Day joke. Unfortunately I never found it and endured far too many nonsense postings.
Next year I would like to see April 1st become the official “Turn Off The Interweb” Day.
While there were a few good April Fool’s stories posted, many of them were rather poor attempts and contributed to the idle chatter of the Interweb today.
Some blogs seemed to jump the gun a little as well, posting their “jokes” yesterday - why I am not entirely sure.
Maybe I am in the minority but I will be looking forward to April 2nd just to see the rather weak attempts at humor come to an end and be able to find information that is worth the time to sit down and read. Until the clock strikes midnight, I will enjoy some time away from the Interweb and spend a night with the family.
If you know where the off switch is located, give me a shout.

Some “jumped the gun” because they are in Australia.

Kelvin, I realize that but I also came across a few blogs that I know are in the US yet posted on Monday. I’d assume the thought was that it would be more believable but maybe they were posting for the Aussie crowd.
All you have to do is find the major backbones for North America and have someone accidentally dig them up! That will make sure the interweb goes down for a while
I think more and more people are starting to not believe things they read on April 1st and now because of some particular people they might just stop believing them entirely!
