This edition of Dad Balance Digest will provide you with a few tips as you continue to find better balance compatibility between your work and your life - including ideas for “date night” with your spouse, seven taboo words in the home office, and how to kill the open loops that consume your life.

This collection of posts has recently caught my attention and I thought all of you might enjoy them as well.

  • Over at A Good Husband, Cory recently provided his last minute date ideas - and the best part is that these are likely to be just as successful as any well-planned night of activities. The “date night” is something my wife and I really need to improve upon and we are in the process of finding a reliable babysitter to give us that opportunity.
  • Scott Young has shared his insight on how to relax without feeling lazy. Scott explains how open-ended tasks are wasting your time and preventing you from being able to relax - which is something we all need to do.
  • Jeff Zbar from Chief Home Officer has coined the phrase work-life compatibility to avoid using one of the 7 taboo words in the home office. Take a look to see what the other overused words - at least according to Michigan’s Lake Superior State University - are and whether you agree or disagree.
  • Alex over at the next 45 years provided a few tips on how to live a balanced life. If you have been struggling with the balance, or compatibility if you prefer, between your work and life, this is a great starting point to begin the process of finding more harmony in your life.
