I like to use the “Hot Item Finder” on Ebay to see the trends for what is selling best at the time. There is “wholesale lots” and a “reseller marketplace” which I then look for items that match those trends.

Your topic would be so much clearer if you didn’t trample the English language in the process. Source is a noun, not a verb.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for office supplies, start with Staples.com for the basics and google the specifics from there. You can sign up for good deal alerts from many online retailers and services if you’re looking for big ticket items.

I google and ebay like everyone else, but I find it is also an advantage to get to know people in a forum related to your trade or industry. You might be suprised at how many knowledgable and helpful people communicate in forums. It may help you find the small company who doesn’t have a large web presence yet, but does have the item you need and maybe at a better price. One word of caution however, some people in forums are there just to sell themselves, so as always beware and get several quotes before making a purchase.

It’s obvious that whether you run a business or work for a business, you will most likely have some experience buying products online. This has become the trend for most businesses and it’s only going to grow more.

Myself, I own a network of over 50 websites part-time. I own a sports events business part-time. And I work for a fortune 500 company on a full-time basis. I have a family and a life outside of computers as well. What am I getting at?

TIME is very valuable to me and it should be to you as a business owner as well. Buying products for your business online not only saves you money, but it saves you time like you wouldn’t believe. So what is my tip? My tip is - DON’T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME COMPARING PRICES. Pick a place to buy your products (goWholesale.com) - and stick with them. You will waste so much valuable time trying to find the “best deal” or the “best price” each time you need to buy. This is not time well spent. Even if it means spending a few more bucks - it’s worth it for the convenience of knowing who you are buying from and how they operate.

So that’s my tip. Since time is so valuable in everyones life and business. Do your research once, find a reliable - well priced place such as goWholesale, and STICK WITH THEM!

Once on the google homepage, I type in the item I’m looking for along with the word ‘craigslist’ - for example, “80GB iPod Classic craigslist.” Google searches all the craigslist sites, not just the ones in your area. I often find exactly what I’m looking for for a great price in another city. The trick from this point on is to contact the individual and if at all possible talk on the phone. You want to maintain the community-oriented focus of craigslist and NOT fall for any scams!

Although “Google” is generally a good search engine, I think a narrower answer will be more helpful to individuals who are trying to learn how to better go about looking for and comparing products to purchase for their companies.

One of the most important aspects to purchasing online (personally and/or professionally) is to make sure that your information is secure. Is there a Verisign seal or something similar on the website you are considering purchasing from? What is the privacy policy? Do your research. Although most sites are reputable, it only takes one bad seed to mess up your life and your credit as well as your company’s.

And although time is of the essence in any business, time is also your best investment into your company. Keeping overhead down can only be done by investing some of your time comparison shopping. You know when you need to re-stock, whether it is once a month or quarterly. Set aside some time to devote to saving money on your purchases. And, be happy that the internet is available to do this! Imagine how long comparison shopping took when a business owner had to drive from store to store!

Thanks for doing this contest! I’m sure I will be back, I am going to try to start my own sewing business from home. :D

The best of the best website to source a product is “http://about.pricegrabber.com/”
because this website contains any products ranging from as small as small kitchen appliances to CD’s & dvd’s to bedroom furnitures.
http://about.pricegrabber.com/ is a website that takes prices from multiple websites and compares them to each other and gives you the best price.More importantly you can advertise your products there and also create an account for free which lets you add and sell your product on that website

A great site for local businesses is Craigslist. Listing is free and it targets your neighborhood. I have seen listing for Landscapers and if you call on the day posted, they have a special price because they were slow on that day.

The best way to get your product out there on the internet would probably be putting marketing resources into social networking sites such as facebook or myspace rather than google. Google has many more users but, its harder to get attention from google users since there are so many. I believe through Facebook, Myspace and other online social networks (maybe there are some related to that retail market) there is a greater chance of “word of mouth”.

I use both Google and comparison search engines (Froogle, etc.). That helps me find potential sources. I think solicit offers from the companies that appear to be the best match.

Interestingly, your official rules state:
“1. Entering Contests and Choosing and Contacting Winners
Winners of contests will be chosen at random from entries received on the http://www.eMomsatHome.com website by submitting a completed online entry form.”

While the contest description states:
“The iPod Nano will be awarded to the person that gives us the best tip on using the web to source products for their business.”

Clearly the description given doesn’t fit with the rules (which are what must, legally, be followed).
